A small collection of correspondence of John C. Ropes regarding his opinions and article on the dispute between the U.S. and Great Britain over the boundary between British Guiana and Venezuela in 1895-96. Ropes argued against the administration's involvement in the dispute which was defended on the basis of the Monroe doctrine. His correspondents include Charles F. Adams and Henry C. Lodge. The collection also includes a copy of Ropes's article in the Bachelor of Arts of Mar. 1896, and clippings on the subject.
